Week 4: St. Augustine 45, Melbourne 0

The St. Augustine Yellow Jackets scored a quick touchdown in the first quarter Friday night against host Melbourne and they didn’t stop — rolling to a 45-0 victory.

Leading 7-0 with six minutes left in the first quarter, St. Augustine’s Jahq Russell rambled into the end zone, and Elijah Ryan's extra point made it 14-0.

Then the Bulldogs started to hurt themselves with miscues.

Melbourne fumbled at midfield, eventually setting up St. Augustine's next score when Martell Storey crossed the goal line.

Melbourne's  Nick Nescio threw a pass that was picked off by Lonell Harris.

St. Augustine backup quarterback Austin Reed, who came in for two plays, threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to make it 28-0.

Brandon Johnson scored the Yellow Jackets' final touchdown, from 14 yards out, and Reed kicked the extra point.

Top performers: St. Augustine: QB Cole Northrop, RB Jahq Russell, and Lonell Harriss, and the kicker, Austin Reed, who was consistent in his play throughout.

Key play: St. Augustine: QB Cole Northrop went down, and backup QB Austin Reed threw a 30-yard touchdown pass.
