Three cruise ships were diverted to Port Canaveral for port-of-call stops today as a result of Hurricane Cristobal.

The Celebrity Summit and Norwegian Breakaway originally were scheduled to stop in Bermuda, while the Carnival Pride altered its scheduled visit to Grand Turk to avoid the storm.

Port Canaveral issue a statement saying it was pleased to be able to work with ‎these three cruise lines to provide the port-of-call day, which brought additional visitors to the Space Coast.

Port Canaveral is the world's second-busiest cruise port in terms of passengers. Eight cruise ships are based there, and the port has more than 160 regular port-of-call visits each year.
