Water should be boiled.

Update, October 16, 10:45 a.m.:

The boil water notice that had been in effect for part of Mims has been lifted, according to the Brevard County Utility Services Department.

Original story, October 14:

A water main break has prompted a boil water notice for homes on several streets in Mims.

Because of the water main break near the Sherwood Forest subdivision in Mims, a precautionary boil water notice has been issued for residents in the following locations: King Richard Drive, Chester Court, Lance Court, Squires Court, Squires Drive, Bedford Drive, Adale Court and Archer Court.

As a precaution, it is advised that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled.  A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. Using bottled water is an alternative.

This precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.
