From an important day in the lives of young athletes to the loss of a beloved Rockledge teacher, these are the top viewed videos on floridatoday.com this week.

5. National signing day is an important day in the lives of high school athletes. It’s the day they sign their intent to attend colleges and universities in the fall.

Here’s FLORIDA TODAY photographer Craig Rubadoux’s video of two such athletes from Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School.

4. The call her Kat for short. This week, as @Shark_Katharine reported on twitter, the reports of the great white sharks return to Brevard waters were greatly exaggerated. Still, the buzz about the OCEARCH tagged shark allowed FLORIDA TODAY’s Jim Waymer and I to learn that the feisty social media darling was single and ready to mingle. When tagged in 2013, she was listed as immature. Scientists now believe the shark is sexually mature and ready to mate.

In the number five spot, here’s the OCEARCH video from Katharine’s 2013 tagging off of Cape Cod.

3. On Wednesday, three people were shot in an incident at the Traveler’s Tax Center just north of Cocoa on South Clearlake Road.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, one person was in critical condition at a local hospital. One person was released at the scene.

2. Live coverage of Friday’s Atlas V launch blasts its way into the number 2 spot. Now, I can’t take you back in time to allow you to see it live, but I can afford you the opportunity to see the replay.

In our ICYMI (In Case You Missed Itof the week, here’s the first ULA launch from Brevard this year.

1. And finally, students and faculty mourned the loss of a beloved teacher this week when her body was discovered in her Melbourne home, the victim of an apparent murder-suicide. Sandra Cook was found by her sister after co-workers and family were concerned after the 2016 teacher of the year nominee failed to arrive to work on Monday. Also deceased was Cook’s estranged husband, Ricky Cook.

FLORIDA TODAY’s breaking news has been following the story from the start including the first report from the scene as well as tributes from students and faculty at Rockledge High.
